February Squad Training 2014

The February MKUTA Squad Training was open to all grades as the club prepares for three upcoming events.

All aspects of taekwondo were covered during the session as a number of students are preparing for their Kup grading at the beginning of March. The class was divided into four groups that were lead by Cesar, Arantxa, John W, and John C. This enabled the different grades to concentrate on aspects pertaining to their grading.

The initial part of the session concentrated on sparring and kicking techniques, important skills covered in the grading syllabus. These skills were also of great importance to the club members who will soon be traveling to Stoke to train with Olympian Mark Stamper.
Poomsae, which forms another major part of the grading, was covered in the latter part of the session. This was important to all our students but in particular to the 25 students who are preparing to compete in the National Poomsae Championships on 8th and 9th March 2014.

- Cesar
"Every student who attended the squad training was highly motivated and clearly showed their determination to perform to their best. I am extremely happy with the constant hard work and determination shown by the students of MKUTA, which will pay off in the future. Keep training, keep enjoying yourselves and don't give up."
